Mountain Biking the Uintas at Slate Creek

The Slate Creek project was one of our biggest builds of 2020 -- 5 miles of trail over rocky terrain, steep side-slopes, and awesome views. The Slate Creek trail is the first biking-specific trail in the Uintas, and is part of a larger collaboration between the U.S. Forest Service and the South Summit Trails Foundation … Continue reading Mountain Biking the Uintas at Slate Creek

Popperton Park Trail System – Salt Lake City

Creative Trails was brought in to build a small trail system in Popperton Park, located northeast of the Avenues in Salt Lake City. We were tasked with building some intermediate downhill trails, particularly catering to younger riders, as well as a hiking trail and a beginner bike loop. The downhill trails include jumps, wall rides, … Continue reading Popperton Park Trail System – Salt Lake City

Cross-Country Ski Trail – Park City

In November 2020, Creative Trails cut terrain for a cross-country ski loop near the Park City municipal golf course. We used an excavator and skid steer to clear, flatten, and revegetate the path. Things got a bit snowy out there halfway through the project, but it didn't slow us down! Utah Open Lands and Park … Continue reading Cross-Country Ski Trail – Park City

Multi-Use and Flow Trails – Tuhaye

Creative Trails was hired to design and build a public trail system in the new Tuhaye residential development. We started construction in 2018 and have since built and revamped several shared-use trails, constructed two directional mountain bike trails, and built a public trailhead. Tuhaye is perched above the east side of the Jordanelle, with awesome … Continue reading Multi-Use and Flow Trails – Tuhaye

Mid-Mountain Trail Reroute – Park City

In September 2020 we rerouted a section of Mid-Mountain Trail, one of Park City's busiest trails, in preparation for some utility work under the existing trail. The rerouted section is just above the Montage, west of the Guardsman Road public parking.

Just beat the storm to finish the Bonneville Shoreline Trail reroute north of the Avenues. Happy to get this open just in time for some spring cruising.
It’s great to be back in Salt Lake enjoying the warm temps and perfect dirt this week. Right now we’re working with Salt Lake City Trails and Natural Lands division to complete a reroute on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Never a bad day at work when this is your view from the office!
The 2021 season has begun! We traveled down to Moab to help Grand County Trails revamp the OK Corral bike park at the Moab Brand Trails trailhead. With the help of the Grand County Trail Crew and a great group of local volunteers, we helped build a beginner jump line, plus a pump trail and jump line just for kids. We volunteered three days of labor and machine time to make this project happen. It was a nice opportunity to give back to a trail community that has given us (and many others) so much to enjoy!
I’ll try this again...
We were able to finish this project at Popperton Park in Salt Lake City right before this last blast of winter weather, whewwww!
We hope everyone had a good and safe Thanksgiving weekend. We continue to plug away at Popperton Park in Salt Lake City. Building fun dirt things and watching the wild life pass by!!
I can’t believe someone is paying us to play in the dirt like this. This is the next “flowy skill building” trail at Popperton Park in Salt Lake City.
One day we are building Nordic trails in the snow, appropriately, and the next we are working on a mountain bike trail in beautiful fall conditions. It’s that time of year. #utahtrails #nordictrails #mountainbike
